Not really. Quite some Dutch speaking people are called "Victor", therefore I suspect that the abbreviation "Vic" is not entirely uncommon either.
But maybe Vic(tor) is less known in the Netherlands.
To check that idea, I activated a search engine, and I found
Victor on 1.900.000 Dutch sites from the Netherlands
Ben on 77.300.000 Dutch sites from the Netherlands
Vic on 2.070.000 Dutch sites from the Netherlands
However: not all Vics are names. Some of them are technical abbreviations or nouns.
Also: "ben" is a form of the Dutch verb "zijn" (=are, être), nl. "Ik ben" ="I am", "Je suis", which also explains the enormous amount of occurences of ben.
