(Sorry for all the mistakes.. If someone wants to help me to improve, feel free to do it)

My favourite album is "L'Astrologue de Bruges" (album number 20). The story itself is very interesting : the story with the "devil" and the desire for the humans to become immortal was a really good idea.. In a certain way, it's still what we are looking for! And the fact that the story takes place during the Middle Ages emphasizes the magical aspect of the story.. I've never been to Bruges but this album gave me a real envy to visit this city because the drawings are as usual so great.. It was as if I were in the city =)
I also found amazing the old dresses : I guess that all the little girls wanted to get one at least one day in their childhood.. well, it was my case smiley sg3agp.gif
And how could I forget all the romantic feelings in this album with Mieke and Pol!?

(I hope it is understandable..)

I had the chance to visit Bruges two yars ago.

each time that i open my book.
something magic happen. Monya an all our friends arrive in my house with the time machine. And all together we go back to see Mieke friends in the middle age.

I would like to go back to Bruges. I miss to touch the old walls and observe the swans.

My favourite album is "The Tree Suns of Vinea". It seems to me a "hard science-fiction" story and I love SF books. I like the preliminars to travel to another Galaxy, the travel itself, the exploration of Vinea and the technological enviroment and the Artificial Intelligence they found on the planet.

I like Time Travels stories too. "L'Astrologue de Bruges" is good but I preffer "The Time Spiral": this is one of my favourites. I like the travel back in time to WWII, the meeting with Yoko's uncle and "the monster", kind of Lovecraft's Cthulhu, I think.

In the other hand, perhaps "The Devil's Organ" is my favourite among the "not vinean / not time-travel" adventures. I love the mistery in this story and the giant organ.

The album I like best? Well, it depends on WHY I like the album.

The 3 suns of Vinea is just grand. The purpose here is to save a world, nothing less! Impressive!

If I like an album for the pure beauty of the images, my preference goes to "La jonque céleste". (NO! I WON'T translate that by "The celestial junk!" smiley sg3agRg29g.gif ) The long files of people climbing in the night with the chinese lanterns is enchanting, magical. (In French, I would say "féérique", like in fairy tales.)

In the next album, "La pagode des brumes", I like the untamed, yet always thuthfull personnality of Liao.

I found "La proie et l'ombre" an excellent enigma, almost in the class of Agatha Christie. The detail of the moving panel (the key to the understanding) had escaped me completely. It is only when I read the album for the second time that I noticed it. Many readings later, I noticed that Roger had skilfully hidden a rather simple plot behind all these esoteric beliefs that the two criminals used to drive Cecilia and Mac Nab crazy.

And I ALWAYS appreciate those albums where we meet Khâny! smiley sg3agog29g.gif Not only for her beauty (which is remarquable!) but also, how I would appreciate having a friend like her! I find her maturity, her calm even in tense situations impressive.

I would be hard-pressed to select a single album that I like most, but after some consideration, I would choose "Les trois Soleils de Vinéa" as my personal favourite. It has one of the most interesting stories, and some very unique ideas, like a planet that has one side permanentely turned to it's suns (like Mercury has), and still have an habitable zone (not unlike earth). Also the way the adventurers travel to the M33-Galaxy is very innovative.

Well, and because it has one of my favourite characters in it: Khâny is still one of the most interesting "fictional characters", together with "Mr. Spock" and "Captain Janeway" from Star Trek and "Han Solo" from Star Wars. (Yes, I'm big fan of Science Fiction). Khâny and the Vinéans appeal to me because at the moment of the first album (1971: Le trio de l'étrange) I was developing a serious interest in "good comics" and Fantastic literature. The Vinéans fitted perfectely in this, because they were living in an unique place (beneath the earth) with very high-tech equipment.

While the second album about the Vinéans was a great improvement, the third was really great: High-tech machines, a wonderful 'alien' planet and Yoko and Khâny in a great adventure.

The 3 Suns of Nivea Vinea for the space travel and the fantastic vision of Saturn (personnaly, I prefer Jupiter ^^ ).

The Titans for his cover and the insectoid aliens (they make me think to Starship Troopers ^^ ).

The Time Spiral : I find Yoko very pretty in this album.

On the edge of life for the so sad story whith a (very) happy end.

The Astrologue of Bruges for er... Mieke !

The album big format of the Edge of life is splendid!

What a sumptuous present which makes us Roger Leloup! A very well conceived work, very clear and especially everything in deduction.

I want for proof the absence of technical explanation, documents about the city of Rothembourg. All that is wanted by the author.

Comments are very well written. They are printed in pale characters on grey bottom as if to put in an obvious place the history of border " which bursts of colours...

This work makes think us on the importance of Life. They close again it then with respect and with joy to have been able to cotoyer for time the existence of this small girl who would have been able to die under the fire of the stupidity of the men.

Grieved for errors of translation...

What is this album, the "big format of The Edge Of Life"?
It's just the album in a bigger size or there's something more?

It is bigger, but there is also documentation on the conception of the album, on a true story that surround the scenario and there are nice drawings too. I do have it and I can tell you that it is a real nice book.

That's really hard to say, the most Albums have their good points.

I love The Daughter of the Wind for the heartbreaking end, one of the deepest moments in yoko's history. And we get some informations about her family. On the Edge of Life ends very interesting too, but in a very different way: "and the most marvellous thing of all... that I am rediscovering right now!" "and that is?" "Life!" - simply wonderful. smiley sg3agg29g.gif

The Rhine Gold reminds me to the good old Bond's. A story about Trains, conspiracies and shady people. Last but not least, I'm a fan from Rosee, she's totally like her mother and has no problems to kick the bad guys. So there's a bunch of good scenes with her.
